SoBRO is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the South Bronx by generating effective economic, housing, educational and career development programs for youth and adults
SoBRO and the famous Waldorf Astoria have developed a partnership to introduce students and clients in our Adult Education & Career Development programs to the hospitality industry. On April 9th, students from our ESOL classes took a trip to the Waldorf Astoria hotel to learn about its history, brand, job opportunities, and new hotel openings around the world.
In addition, SoBRO hosted the Waldorf’s Director for Human Services and Director for Training & Development at the end of May to present on “Careers in Hospitality” to approximately fifty SoBRO clients from adult education and ESOL classes, and after-school and career development programs. The representatives shared information about the hotel’s brand, their international expansion, and job opportunities. At the end of the event the hosts answered questions and held a raffle of prizes including a steak dinner for two in one of the hotel’s premier restaurants. In the future, SoBRO will work with the Waldorf Astoria to provide internships and shadowing opportunities for potential candidates.
SoBRO’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in the South Bronx by strengthening businesses and creating innovative economic, housing, educational, and career development programs for youth and adults.
