SoBRO’s Career Development Department assists community residents in seeking and retaining employment through job-readiness training, skills trainings, and job placement services. Our staff work with clients in one-on-one counseling sessions to evaluate interests and strengths, develop a job search and job retention plan, and prepare their resume. Group classes teach in-demand vocational skills and prepares clients for on-the-job success. Once clients are job-ready, staff refer them to local employers to fill job openings and continue to assist them to retain employment.
Customer Service Certificate Training
Now recruiting New York City residents, ages 18 to 23, and public assistance recipients with dependent children. The National Professional Customer Service and Sales Certification is accredited by the National Retail Federation.

Career Development staff work with clients to match their interests and skills to employment opportunities. Once clients are determined to be job-ready, we refer them to employers who are hiring and assist them in the job application process. The types of career opportunities that we often prepare our clients for include retail cashiers and salespeople, bus matrons, bus drivers, food service and clerical positions.
